Last month, we introduced Part-One of the Passion Projects post. The writer, Sarah Lovins, asked Ivan Myers and Kelsie Patton some interesting questions to get to know them and the things they are passionate about. We have said farewell to Kelsie since and wish her the best with her new life in Wales. We will be interested to hear how traveling went to move her bunnies there – as she was telling us they had to accommodate their travel plans quite a bit for her little floppy, hoppy babies.

For Part-Two, Sarah introduces two more AF team members:

Renee Ewart

Chemist + Chef + Tai Chi Instructor + Empath= Community Builder

One of the first things that I learned about Renee was her love for her birds. Indeed, members of the Avian family show as much diversity as humans in both looks and social systems. It’s appropriate that Renee loves such a diverse community of living creatures because that is exactly the type of community she creates. Fresh out of Chiles High School, Renee is Advising First’s resident Chemist, Tai Chi instructor and amateur caterer.

Her dream Passion Project? Teaching Tai Chi, something she already does and does well, “I understand the benefits of this activity. It is a holistic practice that helps the body and the mind.”

She loves cooking and food, in fact, she describes the times when she’s cooked for 120 people as exhilarating and doing something in that industry would be her dream job. Renee loves so many things, but one of the things she would reform is how we treat the elderly in this country.

One of the key things to know about Renee is that she could win the gold medal in caring for others, and her genuine care for her students is tangible and her proudest professional talent.

Ryan Chin-Hing

Aviator + Writer + Disney + People Person = Aerial Networker

Have you ever been frustrated in an airport? Isn’t airport frustration a universal language? Ryan wants to change the dialect. How? “To expose more people to the world of aviation, and show them the behind the scenes.  So when something like flight cancellations occur, they understand why and have the patience to just stay calm and know that everything is for safety.” Not only is aviation and the business of aviation Ryan’s dream passion project, it’s his dream job. If he could do anything he would take the time to become a pilot, no small feat, after looking up what it takes to get there.

Ryan is also a big fan of Star Wars, Harry Potter, and anything Disney as well as writing fiction and maintaining his blog. I’m personally ready to commission a Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Little Mermaid crossover and Ryan is the talent my vision deserves.

Ryan’s professional talent is helping students feel comfortable and relaxed when they are often tense or worried. He is definitely a man of method, to calm himself down he loves to spend time at the airport watching planes land and take off. If he can visualize the schedules for that, can you imagine how good his students’ schedules look?

To keep himself sane, Ryan jets off to Disney once a month and disappears into the world of Dole Whips and sold-out rose gold Minnie Mouse Ears.
